GABRIELA SCHUTTE

M.S.W, LSW

Gabriela Schuette is a Bilingual (English and Spanish) Licensed Social Worker with experience in working within non-profit organizations and private practice. She is passionate and dedicated toward working with children, adolescents, and their families, and adult individual therapy. Gabriela has a Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago with a specialization in Mental Health and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Gulf Coast University. Gabriela completed her field training at A Safe Pace, a 24-hour domestic violence shelter, where she primarily focused on trauma-focused therapeutic practices.

Gabriela knows that seeking help may be intimidating for many, so she provides her clients with the safe and warm environment needed to process their feelings. She has worked extensively with trauma survivors of all ages and holistically approaches therapy utilizing Evidence-Based practices such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. In addition to her trauma work, Gabriela specializes in treating a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems, such as anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship challenges. Gabriela places a significant focus of her work on helping clients understand how their thoughts and emotions can affect their patterns of behavior.

Gabriela is also passionate about working with parents who may be struggling with adapting to a life with children. Being a mother herself, Gabriela understands the challenges many parents may experience postpartum and provides a non-judgmental therapeutic space to process any frustrations and resentments they may be experiencing.

Outside of work, Gabriela likes to go on family walks with her two dogs, try out new Mexican restaurants, and exercise. She is a lover of the arts and engages in painting or crafting as a form of self-care.
